(Be warned: Not all of these are movies you'd want to watch on family movie night - we have a separate list of kids' Halloween movies, if that's specifically what you're looking for.) You can take a weekend and watch a bunch in a row and make a Halloween game out of it, counting the number of demonic possessions, fake-out jump scares, unsettling kids and creepy dream sequences you come across. And then there are the horror comedies, so you can watch something before you go to bed without worrying about nightmares. There are artier, psychological scares for those who want to be frightened, but would rather not see any blood, thank you very much. There are the extreme gore and guts favored by Netflix horror movies. There are installments of beloved Halloween franchises, like Friday the 13th or Child's Play. These Halloween movies on Netflix have all the flavors of scares you can need. If you have Netflix, the work is done for you. And the show business counterpart of water cooler conversations shows movie monsters in a different light. (The trick is getting a good agent.) When the performers arent trying to chill you, they just, well, chill - in dress-up. And there's no better way to keep the thrills, chills and scares coming than to set up a Halloween movie marathon that lasts the whole month. Behind the scenes, horror productions are more like Halloween parties where the treat is that you get to be in movies.
